The Goethe-Institut Boston is located at 170 Beacon Street (between Berkeley and Clarendon) in the Back Bay
Parking
There is limited street parking available; please be aware of spots that are marked “Resident Permit Only” as you will be ticketed if you park in these spaces without a proper permit. We are pleased to offer complimentary parking at the Boston Common Garage (entrance located on Charles St. between Boylston and Beacon).

Driving From the North
Take Route 93 South to Exit 26, carefully following the signs to Storrow Drive West. Once on Storrow Drive, take the Copley Square exit (left exit) and turn right onto Beacon Street. Go through one traffic light, crossing Berkeley Street. The Goethe-Institut is on the right just before Clarendon.
To go straight to the Boston Common Garage, you will instead turn left onto Beacon Street, then an immediate right onto Arlington Street. Turn left onto Boylston Street, staying in the left-hand lane closest to the Public Garden. Turn left onto Charles Street South at the end of the Garden and immediately transfer to the right-hand lane to enter the Garage on the right. To walk to the Goethe-Institut, exit the garage, cross Charles Street South, and walk across the Public Garden to Arlington Street. Turn right on Arlington then left on Beacon Street. Cross Berkeley Street; the Goethe-Institut is on the right just before Clarendon.
Driving From the South
Take Route 93 North to Exit 18/Massachusetts Avenue (left exit). Turn right onto Mass. Ave. and continue past Symphony Hall (on your left) until you reach Commonwealth Avenue. Turn right onto Comm. Ave. and then left onto Berkeley Street. Turn left onto Beacon Street; the Goethe-Institut is on the right just before Clarendon Street.
To go straight to the Boston Common Garage, continue straight on Comm. Ave. until you reach Arlington Street. Turn right onto Arlington, then left onto Boylston Street, staying in the left-hand lane. Turn left onto Charles Street South at the end of the Garden and immediately transfer to the right-hand lane to enter the Garage on the right. To walk to the Goethe-Institut, exit the garage, cross Charles Street South, and walk across the Public Garden to Arlington Street. Turn right on Arlington then left on Beacon Street. Cross Berkeley Street; the Goethe-Institut is on the right just before Clarendon.
Driving From the West
Take Route 90 East (Massachusetts Turnpike) to the Copley/Prudential exit. Follow the signs to Prudential; you will exit onto Huntington Avenue. Follow Huntington and turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Continue on Mass. Ave. past Symphony Hall (on your left) until you reach Commonwealth Avenue. Turn right onto Comm. Ave. and then left onto Berkeley Street. Turn left onto Beacon Street; the Goethe-Institut is on the right just before Clarendon Street.

By Subway Green Line
Take the Green Line to the Arlington Street stop. Exit at Berkeley Street and walk down Berkeley, away from Boylston Street and towards the Charles River. Cross Newbury Street, Commonwealth Avenue, and Marlborough Street. Turn left onto Beacon Street and cross Berkeley Street. The Goethe-Institut is on the left just before Clarendon Street.
By Subway Red Line
Take the Red Line to the Charles Street/MGH stop. Exit the station and cross the two lanes of traffic exiting Storrow Drive to walk down Charles Street. At the end of Charles, turn right onto Beacon Street. Walk almost three blocks, crossing Berkeley Street. The Goethe-Institut is on the right just before Clarendon Street.
